IHE-J hosted 44 vendors who tested 70 systems. An average of two people per system participated in the event, meaning vendors sent approximately 150 people to the Connectathon. Additionally, 58 monitors, including 10 user monitors, participated.
During the event, participants tested IHE profiles in several domains, including:
- Cardiology
- Endoscopy
- IT Infrastructure
- Laboratory
- Patient Care Device
- Radiation
- Radiation Oncology
A number of topics emerged as key areas of interest.
“Guests from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Cabinet Secretariat were interested in the hospital-to-hospital patient care coordination and communication using XDS.b and XDS-I.b,” says Takeshi Ozeki, Chairman of IHE-Japan’s testing and tools committee.
Looking forward, a number of attendees from other countries, including Taiwan, expressed interest in collaborating on future Connectathons.
