IHE Call for Profile Proposals

Keeping in mind that the mission of IHE Domains is to meet the needs of their domain, Call for Profile Proposals is an important opportunity to influence the development process. The table below tracks the Call for Profile Proposals cycle for each domain. The purpose of this information is to provide an overview of the timeline for each domain.

Proposals should use the Brief Proposal Template see: http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php/Brief_Proposal_Template and
address:

1)  What is the problem
and how does it look in practice (use case)

2)  How should things
look in practice if it were fixed

3)   What specific pieces
of standards could be used to solve the problem.

It is strongly recommended
that the proposal include the name of a candidate editor for the profile should it be selected for development.

 

If possible, give some
indication of the business case for solving
the problem (e.g., what is it currently costing us).

On the PaLM call on Wednesday February 14, 2018 the IHE PaLM
Domain Planning Committee will present a “Short List” of proposals for detailed
consideration. Detailed proposals for those
selected will be due February 28, 2017.

Planning
Committee’s Proposal Review Webinars- Decision Meetings

Webinars are held during the last weeks of September thru
early October. All Proposal authors are required to present a 15 min.
summary of their Brief Proposal on one of these Webinars. Exact dates will be
announced in September.

Planning Proposal Evaluation Kickoff

October 22-23, 2015 in Oakbrook, IL. We urge those who submit proposals or white papers to attend
the Planning Proposal Evaluation Kickoff Meeting in person or phone. In-person
advocacy has proven to be the most effective way to ensure your brief proposal
are understood and accepted by the committee.

Technical Committee Proposal Evaluation Meeting

The week of November 12-13, 2015
in Oakbrook, IL. Proposals that are accepted at the Planning Proposal
Evaluation Kickoff Meeting will require a detailed
proposal to be presented during the Technical Proposal Evaluation Meeting.

Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PaLM) (merger of AP and Lab domains) 2016-01-19 2016-02-05 Proposals should use the Brief Proposal Template and address:

  • What is the problem and how does look in practice (Use Case)
  • How should things look in practice if it were fixed
